The Night of the Big Race
Guhan had trained harder than ever for the annual school race. He was determined to win. But as he dashed toward the finish line, disaster struck—he tripped! His friend Manohar zoomed past him and won the race.
That night, Guhan lay awake in bed, his heart heavy with disappointment. He kept thinking about the moment he fell, wondering if he could have done something differently. Sleep refused to come.
But instead of giving up, Guhan decided to train even harder. He woke up the next morning with a new determination—he would try again next year.
The following year, Guhan practiced tirelessly. When race day arrived, he ran like the wind, and this time, he didn’t stumble. He crossed the finish line first!
That night, Guhan lay in bed, once again unable to sleep—but this time, it wasn’t sadness that kept him awake. It was pure excitement! He kept replaying the moment of victory in his head, imagining the gold medal around his neck.
And now, he realized—
He couldn't sleep the night he tasted success.
He couldn't sleep the night he experienced failure.
Both kept him awake—one with joy, the other with lessons.
Both left him restless, but for entirely different reasons.
With a small smile, he whispered,
"I've learned an important life lesson—No matter what happens, I must keep moving forward, embracing both success and failure without letting them control me."
Then, with a peaceful sigh, he closed his eyes and drifted into sleep, carrying the wisdom of the night with him.
