When discussing Women's Day , it's important to understand for whom and why this day is celebrated. In 1910, there was a second International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen. The notion of an international women's day was put forward by a woman named Clara Zetkin, who headed the Social Democratic Party's "Women's Office" in Germany. She proposed that all countries celebrate Women's Day on the same day each year to raise awareness of their issues.
